Our Faculty in the MAIB Program is drawn across the partner Institutions. These professors span a range of interests, expertise, and backgrounds as rich and diverse as the program itself.

Italy

Fabio Corno is an expert on International Management and SMEs strategic issues. Presently, he’s a Professor of Strategy and Financial Accounting at University of Milano-Bicocca. He holds a PhD in Strategy and Management – Bocconi University and MBA from Columbia University. He has been a Special student in Cino-Soviet Studies at Harvard University. He has been a visiting Professor at Columbia Business School, Lustus Liebig-Universität, Giessen (Germany), Keio University (Tokyo, Japan), Technologische Universität Berlin and Fudan School of Management (Shanghai, China).


Elisabetta Marafioti is an expert in International Business in fashion companies. Presently, she is a Professor of Strategy and International Management at University of Milano-Bicocca. She holds a PhD in Strategy and Management from Bocconi University. She was a Research Assistant, INSEAD (Fontainebleau, France) and Queen’s School of Business (Ontario, Canada). She was also a visiting Professor at Fudan School of Management (Shanghai, China). Elisabetta is a founding member of SDA Bocconi China Lab.

 


Rodolfo Helg is a scholar in applied International Economics. He has a Phd in Economics from Oxford University. Presently, he is Professor of Economics at Cattaneo University-LIUC, Castellanza (Italy) where he is also the Director of the research Centre – OSS India (Observatory on India). He is also adjunct professor at Bocconi University, visiting professor at Johns Hopkins University–SAIS Bologna Center, IESEG Lille/Paris and Chulalongkorn University (Bangkok). He’s been a Consultant for EU Commission, for OECD, for European Investment Bank and for the Italian Office of the Prime Minister.


Ida Castiglioni is a professor of intercultural communication at the Faculty of Sociology, University of Milano-Bicocca and at the Institute for Intercultural Communication in Portland, Oregon. She is an intercultural training consultant for various profit and non-profit organizations in Italy and abroad.

 

 


India

Ray Titus is Professor of Marketing & Strategy at the Alliance School of Business (Alliance University). He also serves as the Area Chairperson at the Department of Marketing. Ray served in Operations, Marketing, and Project roles. As an Industry Professional he’s overseen strategic growth infinitives that included the launch of an independent strategic business unit. Ray holds an MBA from the International Management Institute in Belgium. He completed his Post Graduate program in Planning and Industrial Entrepreneurship from the Indian institute of Planning & Management, New Delhi, and his Graduate Studies in Hotel Management as a topper at IHM.


Debashish Sengupta is a Ph.D. and specializes in Employee Engagement, Strategic Human Resource Management and Training & Development. He is also certified in Leadership Development by the Japan Management Association Management Centre (JMAM). He is an avid researcher and has 64 publications to his credit till date which besides the books that he has authored, also includes 5 papers in International Journals, 6 papers in refereed and peer-reviewed national journals, 20 columns in popular business media, 13 book chapters and 17 articles in academic business magazines. Some of his research papers are listed on global EBSCO database.


Mohan Gopinath holds a BA (Hons) degree and a Masters degree in English from St. Stephen’s College – Delhi University, where he later joined as a faculty. After a two-year stint in the college, Dr. Gopinath joined the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation, and worked as a senior-level banker for almost 21 years in India, UK and Hong Kong, after initially completing a two-year training attachment to the London branch of the bank. Subsequently he left the industry and worked for a PhD degree, which he obtained from Osmania University on the topic Organizational Learning (in the banking industry). His career in HSBC also included an attachment to the all India HR function.
After obtaining his doctoral degree, Dr. Gopinath worked as a management consultant in India and the Middle East. Dr. Gopinath has also worked as a lead consultant for a World Bank funded Institutional Development Study conducted for the Andhra Pradesh Forest Department.


Pratima Verma teaches organizational behavior, leadership and organizational behavior, and human capital management and audit, while pursuing research interests in the areas of business ethics and value-based management. An alumni of the Lucknow University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Professor Verma was awarded a doctorate from the Women’s Institute for Studies in Development Oriented Management, Banasthali Vidyapeeth, Rajasthan, India. Professor Verma has also completed her post-doctoral studies from the Stockholm University, Stockholm, Sweden.


Canada

Julie Nguyen holds a Bachelor of Commerce from Concordia University (Montréal), a Masters in Economics, and a PhD in Interdisciplinary Studies and Asian Research both from the University of British Columbia (Vancouver). She was a consultant for the United Nations in Hanoi and has worked on many international development projects. She conducted her postdoctoral research at the Munk School of Global Affairs, and taught courses in Political Science and Asia-Pacific Studies at the University of Toronto. Dr. Nguyen is currently a Professor and Program Coordinator in International Business and International Development at Centennial College in Toronto.


Amar Rahou holds a BSc. in Accounting, a Higher Diploma in Computer Application in Bank Services, MSc. in Management & Development of International Financial Systems, and a PhD in Economic and Finance, both the MSc and the PhD from Glamorgan University in UK. He was a financial analyst in a financial company in London, UK and a general manager for a British financial company in Dubai, UAE. Dr. Rahou has researched in financial forecasting volatility. Dr. Rahou is currently a professor at Centennial College in Toronto and a lecturer in Economics, Financial and International Business at Lakehead University in Orillia, Ontario.

 


James Wyer, MBA, CITP, CCS, P.Log, CCLP, is a successful entrepreneur and educator. He established in partnership BW Customs Consultants Ltd, BW Freight Ltd and Marlin Travel, a franchise. His industry designations were obtained from the Canadian Association of Customs Brokers, Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation, the Logistics Institute, and the Forum for International Trade and Training. James Wyer obtained his MBA from Lawrence Technological University in Michigan. Presently he is a Professor at Centennial College, teaching International Studies and Supply Chain courses.
